Mayotte, the children's island : half of its population is under 18 years old. Far from being a paradise, the translucent waters island is not spared by poverty and sometimes uncontrolled delinquency, leaving its youth isolated, without proper perspectives.

Despite prejudices, certain local beliefs, a difficult - sometimes dangerous - daily life, some have decided to take their destiny into their own hands, making the ocean their best ally. They dream of becoming divers, explorers, sea cooks, sailors, fishermen... The sea as a hope, a lifeline for their future.

Through their destinies, this documentary immerses itself in the heart of Mayotte, facing its challenges but above all shining a light on its youth determination to fight for its future.
