In the broader history of decolonization, the fate of Morocco, a former French protectorate, stands in stark contrast to that of its neighbors. While Moroccans fought for their independence, the bond between the two countries has never been severed, even to this day. The figure of Sidi Mohammed, who ascended to the throne in 1927, played a significant role in this. Initially perceived as docile and malleable, he gradually became a symbol of resistance to French authority, an emblem of emancipation, and ultimately the king of Morocco. This documentary, composed entirely of archival footage, recounts the history of Moroccan independence through the exceptional life story of Mohammed V.
